Why an Independent Damp Survey?

Moisture symptoms can have more than one possible cause. Condensation, rain penetration, plumbing leaks, defects at external details, ground-related moisture and the way a building has been altered can produce overlapping signs. An independent investigation is intended to identify the evidence before decisions are made about remedial work.

How We Work Differently

Independent surveying means keeping diagnosis commercially separate from remedial work. Richard Bull provides the investigation and findings; Damp Detectives does not carry out, sell or receive income from damp-proofing treatments arising from the survey. Some inspection businesses also provide remedial services. That does not automatically make their findings wrong, but it is important to understand whether diagnosis and subsequent treatment are commercially linked.

Thermal imaging is used where appropriate and interpreted alongside the building inspection and other evidence. Survey scope and reporting options depend on the service booked.
